Privacy Policy
How MarketMate Technologies collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you join our waitlist, visit our website, or use our service.
Last updated: 3 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MarketMate Technologies (“MarketMate”, “we”, “us”, “our”) handles your personal information. We are committed to handling it in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
MarketMate Technologies is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
- Operating name: MarketMate Technologies
- Website: getmarketmate.co.uk
- Privacy contact: privacy@getmarketmate.co.uk
- Company registration: details will be added on incorporation
- ICO registration: registration in progress
2. The information we collect
When you join our waitlist
- your email address;
- your name (optional);
- your business or trade (optional).
When you become a customer
- your name and contact details;
- your business details;
- payment information. Card payments are processed by Stripe — we do not store your full card number or security code. We receive only limited information such as the last four digits, card type, and whether a payment succeeded.
When you use the service
You provide information about your business so we can produce your marketing, which may include:
- what your business does, who your customers are, and what makes you different;
- your tone of voice, brand details and preferences;
- your existing marketing channels and past activity;
- any other content you share with us. If this includes personal information about other people (for example your own customers or contacts), you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share it with us, and we will process it only to provide the service to you.
Collected automatically
- technical and usage data such as IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9).
3. How and why we use your information
| What we use it for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Adding you to the waitlist and sending launch and early-access updates | Consent |
| Providing, operating and supporting the MarketMate service | Contract |
| Taking payment and keeping financial records | Contract & legal obligation |
| Generating, reviewing and improving your marketing content | Contract & legitimate interests |
| Keeping our service secure and preventing fraud or misuse | Legitimate interests |
| Responding to your enquiries and data-protection requests | Legal obligation & legitimate interests |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing carried out beforehand. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered the impact on you and you can object (see Section 8).
4. Artificial intelligence and automated processing
To create your marketing content, we process the information you give us using large language models (LLMs) provided by third parties.
- We use these providers under terms intended to ensure your data is not used to train their models.
- Content is generated with human review before anything is finalised or sent — we do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means alone.
- These providers act as our processors and may be located outside the UK (see Section 6).
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run MarketMate, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google (Google Workspace) — email, file storage and related tools
- Vercel — website and application hosting
- SheetMonkey — collecting and storing waitlist sign-ups
- LLM providers — generating marketing content
- Professional advisers (such as our accountants or lawyers) and authorities where required by law.
Each provider is bound by a contract requiring them to protect your information and use it only on our instructions.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers (including Stripe, Google, Vercel and our LLM providers) are based outside the UK, primarily in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as UK “adequacy” regulations where they apply, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) / the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail using the contact details in Section 1.
7. How long we keep your information
- Waitlist data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Customer and service data: for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Financial and transaction records: for 6 years, to meet UK tax and accounting requirements.
When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- rectify inaccurate or incomplete information;
- erase your information (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict or object to our processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@getmarketmate.co.uk. We will respond within one month and will acknowledge any data-protection complaint within 30 days.
9. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work. Where we use non-essential cookies (such as analytics), we will ask for your consent and list them in our Cookie Policy.
10. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access, and the use of reputable, security-certified providers (for example, Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant for payment data). No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the regulator of a personal data breach where the law requires.
11. Children
MarketMate is intended for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
13. How to contact us and how to complain
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact privacy@getmarketmate.co.uk.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113.
